Libraries

The library resources available to Savannah Country Day students rival those of many small colleges and universities. The DuBose Media Center and the Charles Gay Library collectively house more than 70,000 volumes, 46,000 electronic books, 77computers, and 55 online databases.

The Charles Gay Library serves students in grades 6-12 and provides a broad spectrum of learning opportunities for SCDS students and faculty. The facility is designed to accommodate both teacher led classes and student organized groups, as well as individual student study and recreational reading. The Gay Library features two computer laboratory areas and a seminar room. These areas in the library may be reserved for classes or small group use. The Charles Gay Library is fully automated with an online catalog, online periodical indexing and retrieval, and Internet access.

The DuBose Media Center is a haven for young readers and researchers. Catering to grades pre-K through five, the Lower School library has space for student work and story time, as well as a computer lab for teaching and learning.  Guest authors and poets often grace the comfortable reading nook and discuss their work face-to-face with Country Day students.

Both the Charles Gay Library and the DuBose Media Center have professional librarians on staff to assist students and teachers with research and other learning needs.
