|The Annual Fund is a vital source of income for Country Day each year, helping close the gap between tuition revenue and the actual costs of running the School. Contributions to the Annual Fund allow us to meet the School’s budgetary needs each year, thus maintaining the excellence in education Savannah Country Day is known for, while also helping to stabilize tuition. Competitive faculty salaries, excellent arts and technology resources, new initiatives in curricular innovation are but a few of the budgeted areas that are supported by the SCDS Annual Fund.|

What is the Annual Fund and how are the funds used?
The SCDS Annual Fund is our yearly appeal to our school community. Funds raised go directly into the operating budget to cover faculty and staff salaries, as well as classroom and program enhancements, continuing education and much more. Savannah Country Day School is committed to providing each student with the highest quality education possible.
Why is the Annual Fund so important?
Your Annual Fund donation is the most important gift you make to SCDS. Essential to the School’s operating budget, the Annual Fund makes up the difference between tuition and the actual day-to-day cost of running the School and educating our students. Tax-deductible donations to the Annual Fund help to stabilize tuition.
How does a gift to the Annual Fund differ from capital and endowment gifts?
While the SCDS Annual Fund is used primarily for current operations and is generally unrestricted, a capital or endowment gift will go towards SCDS’ future. Periodic appeals are made for specific needs such as facility improvements or increases to endowment.
Are there additional ways I can support SCDS on an annual basis?
Yes, The Georgia Private School Tax Credit Program allows Student Scholarship Organizations (SSO) to collect funds from a redirection of State of Georgia income tax. Participation in the program begins in January of each year. This program funding provides support for incoming academically and financially eligible SCDS students who are currently enrolled in public school or entering Pre-K - 1st grade. Monies received from this initiative help to free up operating dollars for usage towards other school needs. While, we appreciate you redirecting your state tax dollars for financial aid to SCDS, participation in this program does not apply to Annual Fund support.
What is the best way to make my Annual Fund gift, and when is the deadline?
Gifts or pledges can be easily made on our secure website at www.savcds.org, click on Support SCDS. Or complete the enclosed giving envelope with your choice of giving method. The campaign deadline is June 30, 2015.
