Annual Fund

The Annual Fund is our yearly appeal to the School community. Funds raised go directly into the operating budget of the School. Contributions to the Annual Fund, along with tuition dollars, cover the yearly expenses of the School and assist with providing our level of excellence in education.

Annual Fund FAQ
How are the funds used?
A. Contributions to the Annual Fund offset thr costs of all non-academic programs for our students. SCDS prides itself on the education of the whole child. All educational activities outside the classroom, including all athletic teams, performing arts, and other extracurricular student activities are funded by the Annual Fund.

Why is the Annual Fund so important?
Your Annual Fund donation is the most important gift you can make to Country Day. These contributions help pay the School's bills each year, allowing us to provide each student with extracurricular educational opprotunities outside of the classroom.

How does a gift to the Annual Fund differ from capital and endowment gifts?
While the Annual Fund is used primarily for current operations and is generally unrestricted, a capital or endowment gift will go towards Country Day's future. Periodic appeals are made for specific needs such as facility improvements or increases to endowment.

Can I take advantage of the Georgia Private School Tax Credit Program?
Yes, The Georgia Private School Tax Credit Program allows Student Scholarship Organizations (SSO) to collect funds from a redirection of State of Georgia income tax.
Sign-ups for participation in this program occur in the fall of each year. This funding provides support for incoming academically and financially eligible SCDS students who are currently enrolled in public school or entering Pre-K - 1st grade. This program provides tuition dollars to help families close the gap on what they can afford to pay for a Country Day education. Although these dollars do not count in our Annual Fund, they allow us to provide educational opportunities to deserving children.

What is the best way to make my Annual Fund gift, and when is the deadline?
A. Gifts or pledges can be easily be handled through our secure website giving page. You can also mail your gift to the School at 824 Stillwood Drive, Savannah, GA 31419. The Annual Fund drive ends June 30th of each year.
