Finn Repella Places Third in the Young Writers Contest
Congratulations to fifth grader Finn Repella on his third place award in the 2011 Savannah Children’s Book Festival Young Writers Contest. The writing contest was sponsored by the Live Oak Public Library System, and the over 300 entrants ranged in age from kindergarten to college. This year’s theme was time travel. What is Time?
What are you?
Do you fly bringing memories to a million people?
Are you intertwined with the lives and history of everyone?
Do you sit atop a mountainside and keep many people early and late?
Do you dance in the air trying to keep order in life?
You are mysterious, never to be seen or found.
Do you live on a watch?
Do you float above the waves, telling them when and where to crash?
Maybe you live in a kingdom, always changing the clock.
Did you come long ago to keep people aging?
Do you make the rivers flow across the world?
Will you ever stop from making things go?
Will you be here for ages?
Time, will you be here forever?
I hope so, because you make the world go round.
