Middle School Counselor
The Middle School Counselor works together with the Head of Middle School and is responsible for supporting the social and emotional well-being of 6th-8th grade students. The Middle School Counselor serves a key role in creating an atmosphere of emotional wellness among students. The Middle Counselor works alongside the Director of Counseling as part of the Counseling Department, and reports directly to the Head of Middle School. 7th Grade Life Science Position
The current opening is in our Middle School science department.  The ideal candidate will teach five sections of seventh grade Life Science.  The curricular topics covered throughout the year include Anatomy and Physiology, Genetics, Evolution, Biotechnology and Bioethics, Diversity of Living Things, Cellular Biology, and Taxonomy and Ecology.  The course builds on the science process skills that students learned in sixth grade.  Students will be challenged to think creatively and critically, to use effective communication techniques, and to collaborate effectively with their peers. The Little School Teaching Positions
The Little School, the preschool located on the campus of Savannah Country Day School, is looking for teachers who have flexible schedules and enjoy working with children ages 6 weeks through 4 years old.  This is an as-needed position. Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs and Camp Moon River
The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs assists with the programs and initiatives for Auxiliary Programs at Savannah Country Day School. The Auxiliary Programs department mission is to support SCDS by providing useful services to SCDS parents and the community for a fee. The Assistant Director of Auxiliary Programs will assist with Lower School After Care, Lower School After School Programs, Summer Camp, and facility rentals. For more information, click here. Arts and Crafts Specialist (Camp Moon River at Savannah Country Day)
The Arts & Crafts Program Specialist will lead hands on arts and crafts activities for kids including but not limited to drawing, painting, weaving, sewing (pillows etc), latch hook, creative decorations and items, pottery, friendship bracelets and pins, tie dye, and bringing the imagination to life. Campers will have the option to choose art as their weekly and/or daily choice. This person will also help support general camp activities, be in charge of a bunk, and help lead Moon River Madness (all-camp competition) when not in charge of a group for Arts & Crafts.The Sports and Games Specialist will also be a bunk counselor. Summer Camp Counselor (Camp Moon River at Savannah Country Day)
Camp Moon River Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper, and have the opportunity to inspire, comfort, support, and lead by example. Counselors have the potential to be super heroes. Counselors are responsible for carrying out activities while guiding campers in their personal growth. Counselors should be interested in working with children and possess maturity, flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to have fun. Camp Counselor in Training and Junior Camp Counselor in Training (CIT / JCIT - Camp Moon River at Savannah Country Day)
Camp Moon River Junior CITs and CITs will assist Camp Counselors in all activities with the campers.   All J/CIT applicants should be interested in working with children and possess maturity, flexibility, a strong work ethic, and the ability to have fun. Sports and Games Specialist (Camp Moon River at Savannah Country Day)
The Sports and Games Specialist organizes and implements fun games and organized sports for Camp Moon River Campers of all ages and abilities. It is essential that this person be able to teach campers about being kind and supportive to fellow team mates and members of the other teams whether they win or lose. The Sports and Game Specialist will be expected to have multiple games at the ready whenever we have downtime or an activity block that calls for a game. This person will also help support general camp activities, be in charge of a bunk, and help lead Moon River Madness (all-camp competition) when not in charge of a group for Athletics. Summer Drama Program Specialist  (Camp Moon River at Savannah Country Day)
The Drama Specialist will organize and implement theater games and small productions for Camp Moon River Campers. Goals will be to inspire creativity, assist with ensemble/team building, help campers come out of their shell, develop focus, and teach improvisational skills. Drama will be available as a daily/weekly choice for campers. This person will also help be asked to be a bunk counselor when not leading and will support general camp activities when not leading a daily or weekly drama session. Additional duties as assigned as at CMR we wear many hats and flexibility is valued.
