The Savannah Country Day School

Service Through Knowledge and Character
Alumni Association Board
Each year, The Savannah Country Day School honors an outstanding alumnus/alumna with The Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognizes someone who has provided extraordinary service to the community or who has achieved outstanding personal, business, or professional success.

This year, Country Day honored alumnus Shane Williamson '88 with the 2019 Distinguished Alumni Award. Mr. Williamson is Principal of Williamson Williamson Inc., a Toronto-based architecture and design studio that he founded with his partner, Betsy Williamson, in 2007. Shane is also a tenured Associate Professor and Director of the Master of Architecture Program at the Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design at the University of Toronto.

About his time at Country Day, Williamson says, “I’ve always reflected so positively on the foundation that Country Day gave me. It’s the bellwether that was set for my future endeavors in school, including my time at Harvard. Looking back, I have nothing but positive memories of my academic experience at Country Day.”

Congratulations, Mr. Williamson, and thank you for taking the time to speak with our Upper School students and meet with fifth-grade aspiring architects this fall!
