Country Day basketball faced Hilton Head High School over the weekend at home and had a solid showing. Varsity girls won 50-33 with Luana Castillo scoring 20 points. The JV boys had a great win and Varsity put up a solid fight, with Devin Trawick and Peyton Bean scoring 9 points each. 

If you walk into any of Country Day's gyms after school in December, you are destined to find some basketball. With ten middle school teams, every night is busy for our Hornets. The season kicked off at home with four back-to-back games. The girls 5th grade Gold team did great and fought hard against St James, although they didn't come out on top. 7th grade girls won 72-34 against Habersham School and 8th grade girls won 38-12 against St. James. The 8th grade boys won 41-33 over St. Andrews, using a 2-2-1 press that caused a number of turnovers. The basketball season is just beginning!
