On Monday, October 28th, the Varsity and JV Hornets showcased determination in back-to-back games against Statesboro High School. Varsity triumphed with a 14-6 win, featuring standout plays by Ana Miller, who rushed for a touchdown, and Parker Hall, who caught a touchdown pass from quarterback BG Baker. On defense, Reese Bailey and Miller led with 4 tackles each, while Hall added 3 tackles and made a beautiful interception, carrying it up the field to energize the team.
In a hard-fought JV game, the Hornets ultimately fell 6-18. Quarterback Isa Georgescu connected with Sheridan Flemming for a touchdown and scored an extra point with a completed pass. Defensively, Josefina Chiozza, Flemming, and Sydney Smith each tallied 4 tackles, while Samantha Hendrix caught an amazing interception.
Both teams showed great effort, and the Hornets are eager to bring this energy to their next matchups. The Varsity Girls will bring this effort in their games on November 5th, against Long County and Bryan County.
