Both varsity tennis teams will vie for the GHSA Class AAA State Championships on Saturday, May 13 at Berry College. The girls' matches start at 9:00 AM and the boys at 1:00 PM. The varsity girls' tennis team defeated Bremen 3-1 in the Final Four and will meet Wesleyan. The boys hosted Lumpkin County and won 3-2 with the three singles winning their matches. The boys will also play Wesleyan. The last State Championship for the girls was in 1997 when Lilla Brennan's mother and Helen Culver's aunt played on the team. For the boys, the only State Championship was in 1981 with baseball coach Scott Karnibad on the team. It is exciting to see the next generation take the challenge! Go Hornets!! Bring home the crowns!
