Sierra Davis To Head Volleyball Program

Sierra Davis has been named the new Head Coach for the SCDS Volleyball program after the departure of Brigitte Slack. Brigitte has accepted the Athletic Director position at Hillel Academy in Tampa and she will continue working with Club Volleyball in the area.

After graduating from nearby Hilton Head High School, where she earned All-Region and All-State honors and set the school record for kills with 1312, Sierra accepted a volleyball scholarship to Division 1 Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina, where she earned a starting spot as a freshman.  In her sophomore year at PC, she started in 27 of 30 matches, led her team in kills, and was named to the Big South All-Academic Team.  Sidelined with injuries in her junior and senior years, Sierra made the best of a very challenging situation and continued to support her teammates while continuing to focus on her studies, ultimately going on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Mathematics with a Minor in Psychology while graduating with honors.

"Sierra is very energic and has a lot of enthusiasm. She s a great addition to the Hornets' coaching staff," said Athletic Director Kenny Conroy. "She brings much experience from travel volleyball to the college level."
