The Hornets were excited to play in their first varsity games of the 2024 season against local competition Islands High School and Groves High.
Taking on Islands first, freshman quarterback, Bella Grace Baker led the scoring with one passing touchdown (junior Greta Stubbs) and a rushing touchdown, while seniors Ana Miller and Parker Hall led the defense. Ana had a game high 9 tackles and Parker recorded 3 tackles and an interception at middle linebacker. Hornets win 13-0!
Next the Hornets turned their focus their efforts on Groves High. BG Baker put up 158 yards passing with three touchdowns. Greta Stubbs continued the scoring streak with two receiving touchdowns and two extra points while Ana Miller added a receiving touchdown grab. Reese Bailey showed versatility on the defensive side playing both linebacker and corner and closed out the game with a deep interception. Hornets win 20-7!
