The Savannah Country Day School

Service Through Knowledge and Character

The Fund for Country Day

Country Day's Top Giving Priority

The Fund for Country Day is the cornerstone of the School's annual fundraising efforts.

The Fund provides unrestricted, critical resources each year to bolster the arts, athletics and academic programs across all divisions, faculty resources and student activities outside of the classroom.

Gifts are asked of the entire Country Day community: alumni, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni, as well as every memnber of our faculty, staff and Board of Trustees.

Your annual support to The Fund is an endorsement of the Savannah Country Day education and the daily efforts of our faculty and staff who provide the highest quality experience for our students.

Frequently Asked Questions

List of 4 frequently asked questions.

  • Q:
    How are the funds used?

Each dollar raised goes towards critical and cutting edge technology, media center resources, fine arts program budget, faculty enrichment and study opportunities, performing arts program budget, athletic team budgets, physical education equipment, communtiy service outreach initiatives and an extensive array of extra-curricular activities and electives across many disciplines.
  • Q:
Why is the Fund for Country Day so important?

Tuition alone does not cover the cost of a Country Day education. The Fund serves to enhance the annual operating budget across all divisions -- Little School, Lower, Middle and Upper School. Becasue The Fund is unrestricted,  Country Day has the resources on hand to provide essentials which are vital to the Country Day educational experience.
  • Q:
How does a gift to The Fund for Country Day differ from capital and endowment gifts?

The Fund for Country Day is used for current day-to-day operations, and the funds are unrestricted.  A capital or endowment gift is a restricted gift directed to a specific fund and will go towards Country Day's future.
Periodic appeals are made for specific capital needs such as facility improvements.

Increases to the endowment are made through Planned Estate Gifts (The Savannah Country Day Heritage Society) or gifts to one of many restricted scholarship funds.
  • Q:
What is the best way to make my gift to The Fund for Country Day, and when is the deadline?

Gifts or pledges can be easily made through our secure online giving page or via the Venmo app by searching for @SCDS-TheFund.

You may mail your gift to the School at 824 Stillwood Drive, Savannah, GA 31419.
