Utilizing stock to make a gift can be an effective way to reduce tax liabilities. By donating highly appreciated stock, you can make a gift and avoid capital gains taxes on the stock.

Your company's matching gift program may double or even triple the amount of your gift to SCDS!  Many companies offer programs that will match donations by their employees, directors, employees' spouses, or retirees.  To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check with your Human Resources department.  If your company offers this program, please submit the official paperwork to:

You may give directly to Country Day from your IRA with a (QCD) Qualified Charitable Distribution. QCDs allow individuals aged 70 1/2 and older to transfer up to $111,000 per year. 

These are a popular asset to use when making a gift to SCDS. QCDs enable you to fulfill required minimum distributions and realize important tax benefits while supporting the Country Day experience.

Planned giving utilizes estate-planning vehicles to contribute to Country Day. The Legacy Society was created to recognize the generosity of those who have made a planned estate gift or significant endowment gift to The Savannah Country Day School.
