Our Lower School students recently turned science into a spooky adventure with their ‘Exploding Ghost’ experiment. By combining Alka-Seltzer and water, students observed a chemical reaction that produces carbon dioxide gas. Conducted in a closed container, this reaction built up pressure until—POP!—the lids flew off, sending their 'ghosts' into the air. This hands-on activity provided an engaging way for students to learn about chemical reactions, gasses, and pressure. Experiments like these make science concepts memorable and fun, sparking curiosity and excitement for STEM learning at a young age.
