Isa Rivera To Play College Soccer

Savannah Country Day’s Isa Rivera, a standout on the Hornet girls' soccer team, signed to play with Agnes Scott College, a Division III program in Decatur, in a ceremony on campus Thursday.
Rivera was a All-Savannah Morning News first-team selection last year as a defender. She played a pivotal role in her central back position for a team that allowed just 18 goals all season.
“Isa is the centerpiece to our defensive unit with her experience and ability,” SCD girls soccer coach David Hooker said. “She reads the game so well and organizes everything for us defensively. She has vision, discipline and poise and adjusts well to win the ball. Her play on the back line helps us transition into our offense.” Hooker said Rivera has grown and matured since her freshman year and is a very unselfish player and leader. “She has the right kind of attitude,” Hooker said. “She doesn’t get a lot of fanfare or recognition because she doesn’t score a lot of goals being a defender. But she is the backbone of our team.” Congratulatons Isa!
