Country Day Kicks Off $18 million Invest in Excellence Capital Campaign
Savannah Country Day School has launched an $18 million capital campaign to upgrade campus facilities. The Invest in Excellence campaign's initial phase includes the construction of a 32,000 sq. ft. flagship Upper School building to house math classrooms, science labs, an energy learning lab, and a fabrication/maker space. Other building features include an expansive library, deans’ offices, and a student commons area.
Current commitments from alumni, grandparents, parents, and friends have raised $11.2 million, including two $2 million commitments and an anonymous $1 million foundation matching challenge grant.
Campaign priorities also include the expansion and renovation of athletic and arts facilities, the Little School playground, and Minis Hall, which will be repurposed to create larger humanities classrooms. A portion of the funds will also be used to grow the School’s endowment and reserves.
Head of School Kef Wilson comments, “The Invest in Excellence Campaign will transform Country Day’s campus and position the School and our students for continued success in the decades ahead. We are truly grateful for our early donors who have come forward with over $11 million thus far."
