Clubs Offer New Opportunities For Learning

A hallmark of the Country Day experience is the opportunity for our students to discover their passions and pursue interests outside the classroom. While SCDS offers a bevy of academic pursuits, teachers recognize that certain interests are not always available in just the classroom, which leads to the many diverse and unique clubs and activities here on campus!
It all starts in Lower School, where after-school clubs like Mandarin Chinese, Yoga, Eco-Action and Math Club provide opportunities for younger students to explore new interests and learn through exciting and hands-on opportunities.
Upper and Middle school faculty and administrators recently hosted Clubs and Activities Fairs so students could learn more about the variety of opportunities outside of the classroom. In Middle School, clubs help students find a sense of belonging and explore new interests without feeling exposed or embarrassed. At the recent Club Fair, students were thrilled to learn more about clubs such as Tech Wizards, Bee Keeping, Archery, World Wildlife and more. In Upper School, extracurricular clubs allow student to get involved in the larger Savannah community. The Mock Trial and Quiz Bowl teams compete throughout the state, while groups such as SALSA and TREE (The real Environmental Enthusiasts) volunteer in the community.
