Upper School Hornets Head To Annual People of Color Conference

Six Upper School students- Cecilia Belzer '18, Isabella Giusti '20, Leah Jackson '18, Grace Win '18, Jess Sentman '18, and Isaiah Burks '17, recently returned from a trip to Atlanta for the Annual People of Color Conference/ Student Diversity Leadership Conference. The National Association of Independent Schools has hosted the joint conference for over 15 years as an experience for Upper School students to focus on self-reflecting, forming allies and building community. Hornets attended various workshops and discussion groups during the three-day conference, discussing race and ethnic identity development with fellow students and faculty from across the nation. The Annual People of ColorConference/ Student Diversity Leadership Conference serves as a way for Country Day students to engage in an unforgettable inclusion experience, bring back to Country Day invaluable leadership and insights and become cultural ambassadors on campus.
