The Savannah Country Day School

Service Through Knowledge and Character

Honoring our Veterans

On Friday, November 10, we honored our Veterans with a very special assembly featuring a remarkable keynote speech by Dr. John Cosgrove, who served in the military for 12 years as an Airborne Ranger Infantry Combat Officer and is currently the founder and CEO of the Leadership Workshop. He delivered a powerful message that we can ALL “serve” every day, with small acts of kindness and compassion towards one another.

Our students also enjoyed performances by members of the Upper School Chorus singing the National Anthem and an Armed Forces medley, and a poem reading by senior Nisi King. The poem was written by Spanish teacher Anna Sheridan’s step-grandmother in July of 1944 for her husband, who was serving in World War II.
Thank you to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
