The Booster Club is a support group comprised of parents and coaches. The mission of the Booster Club is to provide a forum for parental involvement in and support of the Savannah Country Day School athletic program, to provide financial support of approved athletic program projects and amenities and to increase the awareness of the school’s athletic programs both within and outside of the Savannah Country Day School family.
Last year, Country Day fielded over 50 different teams, ranging from Middle School to the Varsity level. Our student athletes participated in 12 different sports, including basketball, football, volleyball, soccer and tennis, to name a few. We experienced a renewed sense of spirit as our teams competed successfully, including playoff runs for several of our teams. Accolades for our student athletes were numerous and three members of the Class of 2017 will continue their careers at the next level: Brennan Pastorek will swim for Stanford University; Lester Jackson will play football for Bowdoin College; and Jack Rittmeyer will play soccer for Georgia Southern University.
The continued success of our athletic programs depends largely on the Booster Club fulfilling its mission to provide financial support for these student athletes. Thanks to the over 300 supporters who joined the Booster Club last year, we were able to meet every request from our Athletic Department, including an upgraded sound system for the gym, a new Hornet mascot, Hudl video performance review system, bus transportation for athletes, clinics, equipment and much more.
