Camp Moon River’s first summer was a huge success thanks to the hard-working staff, fun-loving campers and activities galore over the 10-week period. Over 270 campers attended camp on Country Day’s 65-acre campus, where they had the opportunity to choose from a multitude of activities, including arts & crafts, water fun, talent shows, games and, of course, s’mores by the campfire! Many campers were enrolled in multiple weeks, and a handful of campers attended all 10 weeks.
“Every Monday morning brought with it feelings of wonder and excitement, but as the summer progressed, it was a mixture of easing first day nerves and warmly welcoming back our ‘regulars’,” said Mindy Nash, Director of Camp Moon River. “Each week, we kept a similar structure while peppering in different activities to keep the week both familiar and surprising. It never failed that by Friday, we all felt like we had known each other for years.”
Camp Moon River’s goal is to provide a meaningful summer experience for campers and staff, filled with good friends, personal growth and, of course, a great deal of fun — we succeeded!
