Scott A. Lauretti
Scott is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of SAL Companies, a Savannah firm with interests in media, hospitality, real estate and agriculture. A Founding Partner of Guggenheim Partners, a New York-based financial services firm with asset management, securities and advisory businesses, Scott served 20 years in various positions, lastly as Head of Fixed Income Securities Distribution. Prior to his affiliation with Guggenheim Partners, he held securities trading positions with Morgan Stanley and Lehman Brothers, both in New York.
Scott is philanthropically active, serving as Founding Director of The Emmy Foundation, an organization dedicated to the advancement of melanoma treatment and patient care. He is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the St. Joseph’s and Candler Hospital Foundations and President of the Board of Horizons Savannah. He has previously served as Chairman of the Board of MedBank Foundation and President of the Italian Society of Savannah, and Development Chairman of Savannah Book Festival Board.
Scott’s current term as a member of the SCDS Board of Trustees is his second, having served jointly with his wife, the late Louise Vaughn Lauretti, when the couple were Co-Chairs of The SCDS Annual Fund. Scott received his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School/University of Pennsylvania and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Lehigh University. Scott has two daughters: Sofia Irene, (’13) and Gabriella Page (’15).
